When evaluating speeds and specification, please remember that Gbps stands for Gigabits per second. At HomeKit Australia, we use Gbps as it is the commonly used measure of data transfer speeds between hardware devices ... storage capacity is typically measured in bytes, whilst data transfer speeds are typically measured in bits.

1GB/s is equivalent of 8Gbps, so 40Gbps is equivalent to a GB data transfer of 5GB/sec. Please remember that whilst this Thunderbolt 4 cable may be capable of certain speeds, but the connected devices may not.
