Thunderbolt 4, USB4, Thunderbolt 3 external 1TB NVMe SSD drive, also available in 2TB Thunderbolt SSD drive.
1TB Thunderbolt SSD drive now just $249.95 - but there's only two pieces remaining.
If you need high performance data storage for your professional studio, photography, gaming or currency mining then this $249.95 1TB SSD drive offers lightning data transfer speeds via Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 on high-end PC's.
These Thunderbolt SSD's are typically more than 30x faster than a 7200RPM hard drive.
With Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4, it's possible to transfer a 4K movie in under 30 seconds and run two 4K displays and have nearly 16 million more pixels than an HDTV. You can transfer 3 hours of 4K GoPro footage in less than one minute or back up a year’s worth of continuous MP3 music playback in just over 5 minutes. Did you know that 300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute ... Thunderbolt can transfer this 300 hours of video in under 20 seconds.
Please do not confuse this Thunderbolt SSD drive with SSD drives that can only transfer 5, 10 or at best 20GBps. This 1TB Thunderbolt SSD external drive is the real deal.
This external SSD drive has been until recently built around a Seagate Barracuda 1TB PCIe Gen3 SSD, capable of 2400MB/sec read speeds and 1700MB/sec write speeds. Our drive uses an NVMe interface for fastest data transfer with an m.2 (2280) form factor. Right at the moment we are transitioning to HomeKit Australia’s own NVMe SSD’s with very similar specs. We will fully update this page when the transition is 100%.
For professional photographers, video creators and other design and studio professionals, gamers and currency miners, these external SSD drives are a must have. PCIe NVMe is the fastest protocol available so don't be fooled by other numbers and letters. The key is that you must be able to attain up to 40Gbps data throughput, typically via USB4, Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4.
Like all the products we sell, we are using these SSD drives ourselves, each and every day. You won't be speaking to a salesperson who has never even opened the pack but rather a supplier who insists on using every single product they sell .... themselves - no exceptions.
There are some very good external SSD drives available outside Australia but they can cost 2 and 3 times the price of our new 1TB Thunderbolt SSD external drive.
This external Thunderbolt Solid State Drive includes a green power LED on the side of the enclosure.
HomeKit Australia's Thunderbolt 4 cases DO NOT include a Thunderbolt cable. Thunderbolt cables can be ordered separately. Thunderbolt 4 cables are backwardly compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C.
We know of cases on sale in Australia that do not accept USB-C or have proprietary notches on the case thatl only allow for that company's cable to be used. With HomeKit Australia's case, any Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 cable can be used.
Made from thick dark silver grey Aluminium alloy, these cases quickly dissipate heat. We run our own Thunderbolt SSD drives 24/7 and these Thunderbolt drives and Thunderbolt cases always run cool and at worst, barely warm. If you consider another vendor, please ask them how HOT their own Thunderbolt SSD drive runs?
Thunderbolt 4 is capable of peak transmission speeds of 40Gbps so please remember, always verify that the external SSD you are buying is genuinely capable of transfers up to 40Gbps .... many (non Thunderbolt) only transfer 5Gbps, or 10Gbps.
Thunderbolt 4 combined with NVMe SSD provides access to the PCIe bus of the host device, such as your computer. Previously PCIe was only accessible by internal devices and external storage was always slower than similar equipment installed internally. Thunderbolt 4 changes all of that and now external data storage is as fast as if you had your SSD installed internally .... only with Thunderbolt 4 and NVMe SSD.
This 1TB Thunderbolt SSD drive is formatted as a Mac APFS volume for internal testing and verification. If you are using a PC or other platform you can simply initialise the SSD once you plug it in. You might be very surprised how little time this takes. We can not initialise our Thunderbolt SSD drives in Windows formats for you.
Please remember that Gbps stands for Gigabits per second.
We use Gbps as it is the commonly used measure of data transfer speeds between hardware devices ... storage capacity is typically measured in bytes, whilst data transfer speeds are typically measured in bits.
1GB/s is equivalent of 8Gbps, so 40Gbps is equivalent to a GB data transfer of 5GB/sec.
If you are looking to better understand Solid State Drives and their associated terminologies we've produced an SSD Primer which you can download. We have also published Thunderbolt - a Striking History on our News Blog.
Thunderbolt is standard on all recent Apple Mac computers including MacBook Air, Mac Mini, iMac, iMac Pro, Mac Pro, iPad Pro 2021 and MacBook Pro models. PC brands such as HP and Dell are also heavily invested in Thunderbolt and models like the HP Elite X2 1012 G1, G2, HP Pro X2 612 G2, HP EliteBook Folio G1, HP EliteBook X360 1030 & 1020 G2, HP EliteBook 1040 G4, HP EliteBook 800, 700 G5, HP ProBook 600 G4, 400 G5, ZBook 14u/15u G5, Precision 5510, Precision 552, Precision 5530, Precision 7530, Precision 7730, Vostro 15-7590, XPS 13 9365 2-in-1 and XPS 13 9350 all utilise Thunderbolt.
