SATA is the most common hard drive and Solid State Drive interface around.
SATA III has a maximum throughput of 600MB per second, and is significantly slower than Thunderbolt and a comparative Thunderbolt external Solid State Drive.
Very often people use 2.5" SSD's as an upgrade for a legacy 2.5” magnetic hard drive. The SATA SSD will improve the performance and extend the life of existing computers.
If you are looking to purchase a stick styled SATA SSD it may be identified as NGFF or Next Generation Form Factor. Be careful not to confuse NGFF and NVMe as they look similar but with different slot cut outs.
We love the Thunderbolt interface and take real pride in making new performance Thunderbolt products available to you.
HomeKit Australia is 100% Australian owned and operated and we use every Thunderbolt product we sell, ourselves ..... thanks for visiting our Thunderbolt online store.
